On behalf of TAUMUN, we are pleased to share an upcoming initiative aimed at recognizing and celebrating the outstanding contributions of our Teaching Assistants (TA), Graduate Assistants (GA), and Research Assistants (RA) of this academic year. In appreciation of their dedication, professionalism, and the essential support they provide to the academic community, TAUMUN is introducing recognition bursaries within the MUN community. Through this initiative, six TA/GA/RA employees will each receive a bursary of 500 CAD as a token of recognition for their hard work and commitment.
The purpose of this program is not only to acknowledge excellence but also to inspire continued motivation and professional growth. The application period will remain open from February 27 to March 15, 2026. To participate, applicants will be invited to submit a current resume and a one-page cover letter explaining why they should be considered, combined into a single PDF file and sent to awards@taumun.ca along with a reference letter from their respective supervisors supporting their application. Supervisors' reference letter needs to be submitted to us directly. To be eligible for consideration, applicants must be TAUMUN members with membership valid for one year starting from their TA/GA appointment date, as stated in their appointment letter. The award ceremony will be held on March 31, 2026.
TAUMUN strongly believes that recognizing effort and merit plays a vital role in strengthening academic communities. We hope this initiative will highlight the remarkable work being done by graduate assistants and teaching assistants across departments, while reinforcing our commitment to supporting and encouraging them in their professional journeys.
