Your 2025-2026 Executive Team
Kieran Knoll is a MUN alumni, BA in Anth, and is currently completing his Master of Poli Sci with Thesis research focused on Participatory Action Research, Strategic Solidarity, & Academic Labour Unions. With a diverse and accomplished background in both student and labour unions, Kieran became the youngest TAUMUN president on Oct 3rd 2025, at age 23, on the platform of accountability, transparency, and fiscal responsibility. My agenda for this term is to strengthen TAUMUN's capacity, improve fiscal responsibility, and make TAUMUN a union that fights for all.
Tristan is currently completing a master’s in gender studies. Their research interests are nonbinary experiences around love and intimate relationships. Having done their undergrad at UQÀM, they come to TAUMUN with a rich expertise in unionism acquired in a very activist terrain. Their acute union vision and love for the community bring to TAUMUN hope for a future filled with social coalition. They love to play tennis and to be the coffee-maker for a group :)
Marzia Islam is a graduate student in the Department of Gender Studies at Memorial University. She holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Her research interests include climate change, displacement, gender identity politics, women in politics, sustainable community engagement, and the empowerment of marginalized communities. She loves gardening and nature-based photography. Bringing her communication expertise to TAUMUN, she desires to help build a community that knows its rights, opportunities, and collective strength, and a society that stands together in solidarity and works for justice.
Edwina NSD Aryeetey is currently a second-year graduate student in Political Science. Sara Langer is a PhD candidate in Transdisciplinary Sustainability at Grenfell Campus, Corner Brook. She holds a master’s degree from Queen’s University in Global Development, Peacekeeping, and Conflict Resolution. Her research crosses disciplinary boundaries between ecological economics and fine art, particularly textiles. Using these far-reaching disciplines, Langer is collaborating with the French Shore Interpretation Centre in Conche, NL facilitating community-engaged artmaking and investigating how place-based, community-led sustainability transformations can be achieved through cultural and traditional handcrafts. She joins TAUMUN as the interim Treasurer. Her work has always had a social justice component spanning from undergrad in the student union to community-based work, and she is excited to join the labour union advocating for fellow TAs/RAs/GAs as we all navigate our early career in academia. As Treasurer, Langer is committed to transparency in all budgetary actions, maintaining healthy reserves, ensuring money is used appropriately, and overseeing all transactions. A healthy budget means a stronger ability for advocacy and collective bargaining.
